SHIC 2011 Project Plan

It should be understood that this 2011 Project plan is our intended work schedule. However the plans are all contingent upon receiving applied for project money and teams from foreign countries to assist in carrying out these plans. This is standard procedure for charitable or humanitarian aid organizations. We have carried out these kinds of projects for 20 years through SHIC’s Shenyang office.

1. Child Care Conference
We are currently coordinating and looking to secure funding for an entire week long child care conference.  Our desire is to provide a specific small community with a concentrated amount of foster and special needs children with professional education and assistance in a variety of areas.  We desire to address medical and dental needs, to set up a structure for continued check ups and follow ups,  provide education and assistance with social and emotional needs (of parents and children) as well as address basic child care topics such as nutrition,  hygiene, discipline and development of a special needs child’s heart toward his/her future.

2. Seminars
This year we will continue to provide seminars for the local hospitals. American medical professors, doctors and senior nurses from America will come to share medical education and knowledge with their Chinese counterparts and they are always warmly received. This project is schedule is still being worked out.

3. Village doctor training program
We are currently coordinating and looking to secure funding for the 2011 annual village doctor training.   As in years past we will invite Shenyang’s top medical professors to participate in this training program. They will give the local doctors the opportunity to have continued  medical education which is required of them.   It is always received with thankful and grateful hearts from village doctors who are hungry to provide the best care they are capable of giving.

4. Family Retreat
In cooperation with our partner we will be hosting 20 families who are caring for children who are disabled.  At no cost to the family we will be providing excellent accommodations at a nice local hotel for four days for the families.  We will also have helpers to provide assistance in the care of their child.  The purpose is to give the family a chance to rest, enjoy themselves and have a respite.  To be reminded that they have value and their children have value.  While they are with us we will provide some fun, education and take the opportunity to do wellness checks.  This project will take place in Dalian and is scheduled for sometime in July.  Our retreat last year was a huge success and provided a huge impact in the lives of the entire family, both children and parents.  Words fail to describe.

5. Medical Clinics in China
GHO will once again be coming to do a medical clinic this year that will run about two weeks.  It will be in Wa Fang Dian.  Our purpose is to provide excellent medical care to the remote area people and the poor and disadvantaged people.  This project will be in October of 2011.

6. Surgeries for Children Project
We are continually looking for opportunities to provide needed medical care and surgeries to the orphans and children of poverty level or below parents. 

7. Foster Care Program
We currently have 5 special needs orphans in homes and will always assist with others as the opportunity arises and we have the ability to do so.
