Remote Asian Clinic
Team: Globle Health Organization (GHO)

This clinic was held at two venues in Inner Mongolia, China. We had six days in the first venue, Cheng Jisihan Township, and two days in the second venue, Elunchun Minority Village.
Cheng Jisihan Township Clinic

We were blessed that almost everyday it was sunny and bright, with beautiful white clouds floating in the sky above us.  On the first day we arrived at the Cheng Jisihan Township Hospital, we were warmly welcomed  by local people. They performed beautiful local dances for us in native costume.

We never thought there would be so many patients.  The Zhalantun Red Cross had distributed clinic notices to every village in the township.   Some had come for many miles.
I was especially impressed by one thing.  A woman came to our room and asked to be examined.  The test showed that she was pregnant and was to have an abortion.  Though the one child Chinese policy must be honored, the doctors wanted to be careful that it was known that they had nothing to do with this surgery.

1We never imagined there would be so many high blood pressure patients. In the last three days, we were short of medicine for high blood pressure. The hospital had this kind of medicine available for purchase.

The patients there were not so clean, not having showered often. Yet, they were kind and lovely.  Our doctors were very patient with them and shared the greatest love with everyone.

2We packed up everything in Cheng Jisihan Township in the afternoon of and went to E Lun Chun.

Minority Village for a two-day clinic. Everything was set up in the afternoon so that on  Sunday we could go to church and have a little rest.

The hospital in E Lun Chun Minority Village was not as good as in Cheng Jisihan Township Town. Rooms were more limited and conditions were poorer, but our doctors overcame the difficulties and were working smoothly and very quickly.

Eight days were spent for this clinic and a total of 868 patients were seen, including about 200 patients in dental rooms. High blood pressure and diabetes were the most commonly encountered diseases.
