1. SHIC Carpentry Shop

  • Recently hired Mr. Tan to run the carpentry shop
  • Carpentry shop is used to service SHIC Medical Treatment Center, and may also be used by the community
  • Eventually fulfill the vision for our own Children’s Rehab Center needs

2. 4-A Friend Sports Health Week

The high school Sports Health Week:

  • scheduled for July 16-21
  • soccer team from South Korea.
  • looking for a Chinese partner

Children's Day trip to the Zoo group photo

3. Children's Day

  • Celebrated at the zoo with nearly 30 handicapped kids with lunch afterwards. Beautiful!
  • Deaf children came from our hospital; other handicapped kids from the Handicapped Vo-Tech School.
  • We look forward to realizing our dream of family camps for these kinds of underprivileged families.Deaf children playing at the zoo

4. North Korea

  • Delivery of 20 MT of flour successfully made to our 100 families in May
  • In June, one extra trip to transfer the title deed of the elder’s home. Two financial partners will accompany us.
  • Planning a repair/construction team to work at the Elder’s home in July

5. Children’s Surgeries

  • 12 year-old boy from a very poor village, having cataract surgery on both eyes today.

6. Hospital

  • Our relationship at the hospital has undergone a miraculous transformation! Beautiful!!!!
  • Seminar team work wards with our medical staff
  • We look forward to realizing our dream of family camps for these kinds of underprivileged families.

7. Seminar Volunteer from Kentucky

  • To be held at several different hospitals.
  • Sister-Hospital relationship with the University of Louisville
  • Five lay persons: help hold babies for our medical staff during lectures
  • Performance, in mime, the story by Max Lucado, “You Are Special”.
  • To be held 3 or 4 times:
    1. The Two Special Needs Schools
    2. The Welfare Institution for young mentally challenged residents
    3. Handicapped Vo-Tech School for Moms and kids

Red Cross Fund Raiser, traditional Chinese dance performance at Mao Circle

8. Special Red Cross Fund Raiser

  • A live telecast
  • SHIC interview on live TV
  • Red Cross can raise lots of money for children needing heart surgeries.

  • A caring foster home that will insure his education.

  • The money for our Township Doctor Training Program
  • The money for the remote area medical and dental clinics in North Korea and the Middle East.
  • Staff salary raises to meet cost of living increase
